Virtual Reality (VR) is an immersive technology that allows users to experience and interact with a simulated environment. By wearing special VR headsets, users are transported into a 3D world that can mimic real-world scenarios or create entirely fictional ones. VR creates an illusion of being physically present in a digital space, which makes it ideal for gaming, entertainment, training, education, and more.

A VR headset is a wearable device that allows you to experience virtual reality by immersing you in a simulated, 3D digital environment. It consists of a pair of goggles or a visor that covers your eyes and, sometimes, your ears. Inside the headset are displays and lenses that show stereoscopic 3D images, creating the illusion of depth and space.

TOMIYA & VR Technology:

Tomiya is making engagement a top priority on the latest technologies including VR. Tomiya uses the virtual studio for desingers to create, communicate, and share in 3D at every step of the digital design workflow.

In today’s fast and dynamic fashion landscape, more advanced tools like the VR are the keys of our innovation. Tomiya implemented a new VR digital design workflow that enhance our commnication among our designers and developers, transfering the blueprint design concepts to the various real products while saving the carbon footprints.  Our team jumps in the same virtual studio and work together on 3D digital work place.

How VR Technology enhances TOMIYA design workflow:

  1. First Sketch with making the progress toward the full design

  2. Direct and immediate feedback on 3D designs

  3. Efficient product development and improvement process

  4. Reducing waste of resources including materials

  5. Ease of desiginig the various prototypes

  6. Effective Intercommunication among the team

TOMIYA Product Development Flow:

  1. State the needs and solve the problems of the customers: One of the most important process of creating the design starts with identifying the needs and problems of the customers. Because there are many similar products available in the market place, each of our products need to have the clear reason to be created.  Only a few selected products will be chosen and we focus on those we believe in.
  2. Create idea and challenging the concept: This is our brainstorming stage and we identiy the needs of our customers and create several concepts and designs. VR can be used to reduce complex product design process and scenarios without the resource required with real products.
  3. Design the Prototypes: VR allows our designers to explore various prototype designs they may not otherwise have the chance to work on. VR is a powerful tools to enable the designers to freely test their creativity within the virutual studio. VR saves time time for designers to prepare materials and build the prodcut.
  4. Validation of the concept: VR platforms enable our designers to connect with others in a virtual environment. These platforms create avatars, digital versions of users, that can interact in shared spaces like virtual meeting rooms and virtual studio where they validate the concept.
  5. Build the Products: Once the concept is validated, our product development team will build the prototype based on the design from the virtual studio. Because 3D design at the virtual studio is just like the real product and the product detail can be accuratedly retrieved, more precise product will be created.
  6. Improve the Products: VR allows our team to create and visualize their product improvement in 3D before actual product construction begins. This is especially useful for fine-tuning product designs and making changes before the physical work starts.

Future of VR Technology:

The future of VR is promising, with advances being made in areas like display resolution, motion tracking, and haptic feedback. We may soon see VR headsets with lighter designs, higher resolution, and more realistic interaction methods. Furthermore, the integration of VR with other technologies like augmented reality (AR), artificial intelligence (AI), and 5G will open up even more possibilities for this technology in everyday life.

Tomiya’s commitment to continues working on this VR technologies to enhance our products and bring product visibilities to the various market segment, is inevitable.
